Meet the Management Team

Priyanka has been with DBNC as the Executive Director since February, 2021. In her short time with the agency, she has started the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee because she is passionate about creating a culture of belonging. Priyanka has a varied history in the industry, having worked in organizations like Sistering and Family Services of Peel. She is thrilled to continue shaping DBNC’s future with her leadership experience and vision.

Bill started with DBNC in 2024, after working as VP Finance for a nonprofit with a similar mix of programs, but which also had extensive childcare operations. Bill is leading the initiative to expand DBNC’s operations into childcare, as well as leading the Finance team. Bill enjoys writing, fostering rescue dogs, gardening, and modernizing his old house.

Amela has been with the agency since 2004, building a diverse career across multiple departments and roles. These experiences have shaped her both professionally and personally, strengthening her skills and preparing her for her current position as Associate Manager. Amela is passionate about fostering a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment and is committed to continuing her growth as a leader.

As the Office Manager at DBNC, Gary is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all administrative procedures in the office, including managing the IT team, the reception and operational functions of the organization to ensure safety, effectiveness, and efficiency. Gary has extensive experience working with non-profit organizations. He is a strong believer in common sense and team work.
Gary enjoys hiking, skiing, road trip and photography. He lives with his family in the beautiful city of Mississauga.
Hameed joined DBNC in October 2021 and quickly took on a key role leading the High Priorities Community Strategy (HPCS), strengthening community outreach and building strong partnerships with agencies across Peel. He now manages several initiatives within the Community Health Program, including work supporting caregivers and the seniors program. Hameed is committed to improving access and outcomes for racialized and newcomer communities.

Jasbir started her career in the Settlement sector as a Settlement Counsellor moving her way to a Coordinator and now as an Associate Manager of Settlement Services at DBNC-Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre. Settlement Services support newcomers in building successful lives in Canada. Jasbir works closely with local partners and stakeholders to create welcoming and inclusive environment to empower newcomer individuals and families to thrive. She is committed to fostering collaboration and innovation to strengthen community support systems for immigrants and refugees. She brings forth 21 years of extensive experience in the settlement sector and leads with compassion. If you are feeling down, she can cheer you up with her laughter therapy :)

Joyce started at DBNC in 2013 as a LINC program Assistant, later advancing to Coordinator before stepping into her current role as Associate Manager. As an immigrant herself, she is passionate about helping newcomers through accessible language learning and culturally responsive support. She is committed to fostering an inclusive, learner-centered environment where students can build confidence and reach their goals. She believes every newcomer to Canada has a unique story and is dedicated to meeting them wherever they are on their journey, offering support with empathy, respect and care. Outside of work, she’s your girl next door who enjoys Karaoke and taking on creative projects at home.

As the Associate Manager for Employment Services, Katarina jointly oversees the Employment Program Department. Katarina is passionate in working with a team who is dedicated to empowering individuals and strengthening the community. With a key focus on team collaboration and Client- centered, approach, ensuring that each Client served receive the right support, information and guidance to successfully entering into the workforce. With over 10 years of experience, Katarina is a strong believer that providing personalized support to  individuals in the community but assist in improving overall lives – by setting a  foundation for long term personal and professional growth and a pay it forward mentality.

Lindel has been a part of DBNC for over 20 years! Lindel has had many roles throughout the years, but is currently the SWIS / Youth Manager and Risk Officer. Lindel oversees a talented, hardworking, and dedicated staff team who support the delivery of DBNC’s youth drop-in, after-school and seasonal day camps, and Settlement Workers in Schools program. The staff team always bring their passion to serve their communities with a smile! Lindel has a niche of developing staff who have moved on to many roles (Managers, SW’s, teachers, law enforcement, etc.) within Peel Region.
His passions include youth advocacy, promoting healthy living and active lifestyles (Everything in moderation!). In his free time, Lindel enjoys playing and watching sports and spending time with his children

Magdalena has been managing Family Support Services since 2003, overseeing a variety of programs aimed at supporting families with young children and those affected by gender-based violence. She is outgoing and feels comfortable meeting new people. As a person-centered leader, she excels in dynamic environments. Magdalena has been involved in community advocacy and activism since her high school days in Chile. She enjoys all forms of cultural expression and loves attending open-air concerts that provide ample space for dancing.

As the Associate Manager for Outreach & Development, Meagan coordinates the poverty reduction programs and assists in overseeing communications, events, volunteering and the fundraising portfolios.
Her passions include advocating for social change, and promoting inclusive opportunities. With a commitment to collaboration and innovation, Meagan strives to make a positive difference through every project she undertakes.
Michael has a background as an entrepreneur and strategic business leader with extensive sales, marketing and operations leadership experience in both the for-profit and not-for- profit sectors. He is focused on helping individuals and organizations achieve their full potential.
As the Outreach and Development Manager, Prathi oversees DBNC’s communications, volunteering, and fundraising portfolios. She enjoys connecting directly with the community and advocating for change.
In her spare time, Prathi loves to spend time with her family and friends, travel, shop, read, and write. An Intersectional Feminist, Prathi runs a passion project Instagram account where she curates and recommends greats books written by women of colour!

As the Associate Manager for Employment Services, Priyanka jointly oversees the Employment Programs Department. Priyanka is strong believer in teamwork and collaboration in working towards a common goal. With over 10 years of experience in the employment services field, Priyanka is passionate about helping individuals and creating meaningful impact in the community. Driven by continuous learning, Priyanka brings a thoughtful, people-centered approach to every initiative

Suzanne Malone is the Human Resource Manager with over 20 years of management experience. After many years working internationally, she is now enjoying non-profit work at DBNC. Suzanne manages all of the HR functional areas such as recruitment, training , benefits, payroll, policy development, health and safety, and collaborates with the management team on strategic planning, improving service delivery and influencing positive outcomes for the community.
She enjoys reading and researching history, movies and documentaries, cooking, traveling, art galleries, museums, music and cultural events.

DBNC’s leadership team brings a wealth of experience, vision, and community insight—ensuring that every initiative reflects the needs and voices of the people we serve. Our Board provides strong governance and strategic direction, while our managers and frontline staff work tirelessly to deliver high-quality services rooted in respect, equity, and cultural understanding. Guided by a shared commitment to strengthening communities, we remain focused on building connections, fostering belonging, and supporting newcomers at every stage of their settlement journey.

Staff, volunteers, and neighbours work together to identify and discuss issues and concerns, develop and provide services and programs to meet the needs of the community, and promote community participation. Board meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month and are open to the community.
