Who We Are?

DBNC (Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre) in partnership with Ontario Health address and support COVID-19-related issues and barriers our community members face. This includes providing the community with the culturally appropriate information needed to:

  • Prevent the spread of COVID-19 by following preventative measures including the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and Rapid Antigen Tests (R.A.Ts)
  • Discuss misinformation and myths circulating about COVID-19
  • Culturally appropriate outreach
  • Book appointments for COVID-19 testing, vaccinations and provide transportation
  • Supporting those in need to isolate or have been impacted by the pandemic
  • Case-management and wraparound services etc.

Community Health Ambassadors reach community members within residential buildings through various modes (e.g., door knocking, leaving pamphlets, setting up an information table) to share important information about COVID-19.

Peel Public Health and Ontario Health Central Region are partners in this work and support DBNC’s outreach activities within residential buildings and within the community at large.
