Sumbel, Kiran, and Mansi stopped by Roots and Resilience’s to record a very special episode in honour of International Women’s Day. They spoke with host, Cristian Fox, about why it is so important for more women to enter the Technology space and how they overcame challenges related to being women of colour.

Sumbel Syeda is a tech enthusiast. She has completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology from York University and has a certificate in Cybersecurity. Currently, she works in the DBNC IT department as a Systems Technical Support Analyst. She enjoys travelling and being in nature. You can catch her playing table tennis and binge-watching her favourite movies during her free time.

Kiran Boparai has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from India and is certified in Microsoft Power BI. She currently works in the DBNC IT department as a Technical Support Analyst. She enjoys working in Technology as well as spending her free time with her son and her husband, watching movies, and playing sports like basketball and badminton.

Mansi Gandhi is a passionate marketing professional. She has completed her Masters in eCommerce and studied Digital Marketing from the University of Toronto of Continuing Studies. Currently working as a Digital Strategist at DBNC, she is known as the Outreach and Development team’s techy-girl. She enjoys problem-solving by keeping herself updated with tech. In her personal time, she loves DIY projects, is an avid board gamer, and enjoys painting.
